A Michelin star chef requested a modernist update to her hundred year-old Victorian flat in San Francisco. Opening walls from the entry hall and living room brought natural sunlight to the kitchen, the heart of this home. A large island connects the living room and a central dining area to host fellow foodies. Soft blue/white/grey palette, inspired by the city's signature fog, appears everywhere, from historic Farrow & Ball paint and building materials (stone, terra cotta, clay, wood) to decorative furnishings and art. Kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom maximize limited space through efficient design and built-ins.
